Lalbagh Botanical Garden:
Lalbagh Glass House is a giant palace like glass and iron structure, inspired by Crystal Palace in London’s Hyde Park. Lalbagh glass house was built in 1989 and renovated in 2004 and remains the primary attraction for visitors of Lalbagh. Lalbagh has a large lake in its southern part, complete with walking trails, a bridge and a mini waterfall. Lalbagh hosts several events throughout the year- Lalbagh flower show during Republic Day (26 January) and Independence Day (15 August), Mango/Jackfruit festivals during summer, cultural shows at Band stand are some of the popular events held in Lalbagh.
Bangalore Palace:
Turreted parapets, battlements, fortified towers and arches adorn this regal architectural masterpiece modelled on the Windsor Castle in England. An open courtyard allows space for concerts, exhibitions and cultural programs. Exquisite carvings, paintings and photographs of viceroys, maharajas and other famous personalities form special attractions inside the palace building. There is an amusement park, better known as Fun World, inside the palace complex.
Start the day by driving from Bangalore to Mysore (approximately 4 hours). Upon reaching Mysore, visit the iconic Mysore Palace, a splendid architectural marvel. Mysore Palace:
Constructed in Indo-Saracenic style, the magnificent Mysuru Palace also known as Amba Vilas is the official residence of the Wadiyar dynasty and the seat of the Kingdom of Mysuru. Its exquisite interiors – replete with carved mahogany ceilings, stained glass, gilded pillars and glazed tiles – epitomizes royalty and grandeur. The palace, illuminated with 97,000 lights, turns into a glorious spectacle at dusk on Sundays and public holidays. It is arguably the most visited palace in India.
Chamundeshwari Hill :
Located 12 km from Mysuru, the Chamundi Hills is home to the Goddess Chamundeshwari, the patron deity of the Mysuru Royal Family. Built in the Dravidian style architecture, the 17th-century Chamundeshwari temple with a richly-attired image of the deity also has a huge statue of Mahishasura near the entrance. An older Ganga-era Mahabaleshwara Temple is also located on the hilltop. According to the legends, the Goddess defeated the demon king Mahishasura, on this hill. Halfway up the hill, you can also see the monolithic Nandi, believed to be one among the largest in the country.
Chamundeshwari Temple:
Said to have been 1000+ years old, Chamundeshwari Temple featuring Goddess Durga received patronage from all rulers such as Hoysalas, Vijayanagara Empire and Mysuru Wodeyars. The temple tower (Raja Gopura) was added by Krishna Raja Wodeyar III in 1830.
Begin your journey from Mysore to Coorg, a picturesque drive of around 4 hours. Visit the Golden Temple, also known as Namdroling Monastery, in Bylakuppe on the way. Take a leisurely stroll through the scenic coffee plantations in the evening. Relax and enjoy the serene atmosphere of Coorg at night. Overnight at Coorg.
Namdroling Monastery:
Namdroling Monastery’s main entrance is an attractive four story tower with a wheel portraying symbols of Buddhism. The main attractions inside the temple are the statues of Lord Buddha in the centre with statues of Lord Amitayus and Lord Padmasambhava on either sides. Visitors can pray, meditate, give their offerings and rotate the mani prayer drums. Rotating these prayer drums is believed to give the same benefit as chanting “Om Mani Padme Hum”, the Buddhist prayer.
Coffee Plantations:
Karnataka’s topography and climate offer an amazing atmosphere for the coffee plant to bloom in all its glory. This is why it produces about 70% of India’s total coffee harvest that’s broken up into the Arabica and Robusta varieties. What adds to the fun is that these coffee-producing regions also offer a lot of experiences that are fun for the entire family, making these destinations enjoyable for all ages.

Raja's Seat:
Raja's Seat is a garden built on an elevated ground overseeing the valleys that lie to the west, making it a popular viewpoint to watch sunrise and sunset. Dotted with flowering plants and skillfully designed artificial fountains, Raja's Seat is located in Madikeri in the district of Coorg. The garden was a favourite venue to rejuvenate for the Kings of Kodagu, and they loved watching the sunsets sitting here as they spent some memorable time with their Queens. The garden here is a preferred picnic spot for the locals.
Abbey Falls:
Abbey Falls, also known as Abbi Falls, is located around 10 kilometres away from the town of Madikeri and is one of the most popular tourist attractions in and around Coorg. The water cascade coming down from the cliff from a height of 70 feet provides a spectacular scene to behold. The walk to the falls from the main entrance has around 200 steps downwards throughout and takes you through exotic coffee, cardamom, pepper and other spice plantations. Even though bathing is prohibited in the falls now, there is an over-bridge opposite the falls to witness the beauty.
Embark on a scenic drive from Coorg to Ooty, which takes approximately 6 hours. Visit Ooty Lake and enjoy boating in the afternoon. Discover the enchanting Government Botanical Garden spend a serene evening amidst the tea gardens of Ooty. Overnight at Ooty.
Government Botanical Garden:
Visitors are greeted with astounding colourful natural beauty from the moment they pass through the gates. For more than 160 years, foreign and local travellers have visited the lush green lawns of the garden, admiring the stunning variety of flowers, ferns, and orchids present here. Another highlight of the Botanical Garden is the Toda hill, known as the Toda mund, which gives the visitors an insight into the lives and culture of Todas (a tribe of the Nilgiris).
Morning after a relaxed breakfast, go for a short trek to Doddabetta Peak to witness panoramic views. Take a memorable ride on the Nilgiri Mountain Railway during the afternoon (cost extra). Explore the local markets and savor delicious street food at night. Relax and soak in the beauty of Ooty at night.
Doddabetta Peak:
Dodabetta, literally translating to mean - Big Peak, is located approximately 10 km away from Ooty. It towers to a staggering height of 8650 feet or 2,623 meters above the sea level and is the highest peak in the Nilgiri Hills. A treat to the eyes, this picturesque land is indeed a great sightseeing place. Dodabetta is one of the most preferred places to visit in Ooty and is also a popular trekking destination.
Depart from Ooty and drive back to Bangalore, a journey of approximately 8 hours. Relax and prepare for departure in the evening from Bangalore airport.
